thats desire/here we are ep is a 12inch vinyl and digital release by fragile, wolfgang tillmans evolving band project that spans from early recordings in 1986 with bert leßmann to a full band ensemble made up of a group of musicians in new york in 2016. the double a-side ep opens with thats desire, a collaboration with the new york rapper ash b. the song evokes associations with dfa, daf and a queer talking heads. in a spontaneous action ash b. takes over the mic and raps over tillmans heartfelt lyrics, originally written in 1985, combined with a funky bass line by thomas roach. the experiment results in a driving indie-dance sensation about the pleasure and pain of getting lost in ones own desire.

brand new, rambunctious, rootsy, spiritual brass-band music from lagos, with singing, drums and home-made percussion. obadikah is a group of old friends who play together in the cherubim & seraphim and baptist churches of the ikeja and isale eko districts. a couple of them were founder-members of the eko brass band, they’ve played with pretty much all the key nigerian reggae artists. the tunes are mostly traditional yoruban melodies, often sung at bed-time. the songs are mostly original, sung in yoruba (though jomido is an egun song from the badagry area of lagos state).

nice price deal !!! gioele giacopelli, also known under the jwl moniker, is an italian producer and dj who had his music released by many international record labels such as plus plus, soul shift music, sexonwax and fortezza records. the uk based label pathway traxx released his disco cuts ep on vinyl, which held the number 1 spot in multiple charts and its track called again n again was supported by famous artists such as ben ufo. since 2016, jwl is signed under soundscapes records/escape series, where he collaborates with tuscan musician and producer inno (giovanni ferretti). giovanni ferretti participated as a multi-instrumentalist with a band called sycamore age on the album of the same name, released on santeria/audioglobe records in march 2012. the album was distributed by rough trade in german speaking countries, france and belenux, where it has been selling well. in december 2013, fortezza records released hard dreamers ep which included tracks by giovanni ferretti and jwl. at that time, jwl was involved in various multimedia and electroacoustic projects within and outside of his musical studies. soon, inno and jwl will release a 4-track ep escape series 003 on vinyl.

das album -100%- war längere zeit nicht zu haben. weder auf cd noch digital. die songs sind neu gemastert. die songs sind dieselben, es gibt keine neuen songs oder sonstiges bonusmaterial, einzig beim sound wird man ein paar unterschiede feststellen. den remastering-prozess hat eike freese gemacht. eike freese hat in den letzten 15 jahren an mehr als 170 veröffentlichungen mitgewirkt, darunter auch an alben und dvds von deep purple, saga, apocalyptica, gamma ray, eisbrecher, oomph!, heaven shall burn, callejon, uvm. für seine arbeiten an deep purples -now what?!- the live tapes- und eisbrechers -die hölle muss warten- wurde eike freese mit jeweils einer goldenen schallplatte ausgezeichnet. außerdem wird er mitverantwortlich für das kommende album sein. aber dazu mehr zu seiner zeit. das gesamte artwork wurde überarbeitet. die band ist immer wieder ergriffen über das, was die fans zurückgeben. massive attack release two brand new songs, ‘come near me’ and ‘the spoils’. both songs are written and produced by massive attack’s daddy g and collaborator stew jackson and feature vocals from ghostpoet (on ‘come near me’) and hope sandoval (on ‘the spoils’). these new songs follow january’s release of the ‘ritual spirit’ ep, which was written and produced by the band’s robert del naja and collaborator euan dickinson. the video for ‘the spoils’ stars cate blanchett and is directed by john hillcoat, best known for his directorial work on films such as the road, lawless and the proposition.

with half a century of existence, beninese band poly-rythmo can easily be considerate as legends of the african music alongside sela kuti and tinariwen. drawing their name from the extensive mix of influences that forged their sound (american soul and funk, nigerian afrobeat, french chanson, congolese rumba, etc.), they are known to be impressively productive as they released from 1969 to 1980 hundreds of eps and dozens of albums. in 2014, orchestra conductor florent mazzoleni visited the band and decided to produce this new album recorded in the legendary african studio satel. with its warm tone and mastery of rhythm variations, madjafalao will instantaneously become a classic of afrobeat and poly-rythmo will share their warm joie de vivre with thousands of people during their european tour starting in late october.
